A contest sponsored by the Fiscal Court for the fifth graders in Powell County. We asked them to write a letter to the County Judge Executive expressing what they felt like would improve our county. There was one winner from each school. The teachers who helped make this possible were, Candace Anderson and Pamela Johnson. So the winners are, at Bowen Elementary Dillon Barker and at Clay City Elementary Sierra Townsend. The winners were presented with $25 at the Fiscal Court meeting after presenting their letters to the Fiscal Court.
The picture order from left to right is: Sierra Townsend, Mrs. Johnson, Dillon Barker, and Mrs. Anderson
Judge/Executive James Anderson went to Clay City Elementary to talk with the 4th grade classes about local government. Below are a couple of photos of the Judge and Students.
Friday March 22 we had a Kick Initiative Ribbon Cutting for a Prescription Drug Drop Box. Andy Barr was present for this event and actually helped cut the ribbon. See a couple of photos of the event below.
